T's words made my heart smile today! I love how T's school work is encouraging him to think about his character and his need for God's help. As I write this post, I am reminded of the words of Isaiah 54:13, which say, "And all thy children shall be taught of the Lord; and great shall be the peace of thy children." I often remind myself of this scripture as this is God's instruction to me as a mom and is my heart's desire for my children. One of the major reasons I have chosen to homeschool is to make sure they are being taught of the Lord.
This is Talen's penmanship test he took today (from Abeka Penmanship). I enjoy reading his penmanship tests each week because I like how Abeka uses Bible verses, poems, and quotes for handwriting. I try to take a moment to really take in what the author is saying and stop to reflect on it for a few minutes for my own enjoyment. Oftentimes, I will ask my child, "What was the message of today's writing?" or "What was your take away from today's writing?" These type of questions can lead into a quick little discussion with your child about making good choices and the importance of good character traits.
