Reading Response Activity for Read Alouds and Independent Reading
The first "Book Reviews" form I made was to use with my children after I read aloud a book to them. My Big Dog by Janet Stevens and Susan Stevens Crummel is our family's favorite read aloud book! We have read this one over and over. This is my absolute favorite children's picture book to read aloud! It is funny, hilarious, and amusing in a few short words. The illustrations are also delightful.
The second "Book Reviews" form is for my children to use as a reading log of books that they read independently. After they finish reading a book independently they enjoy doing a quick review and sharing their review with our family.

You can download these first day posters from my TPT store. I also have a couple of other designs in my TPT store.
Check out this blog post I wrote a couple of years ago about my first day and last day of the year printable posters.
I made the video below & these 2 printable posters to go along with the spelling rule:
k goes with i and e, c goes with the other 3: a, o, u.
I made them to use with the elementary ABeka Curriculum but you could use them with any other curriculum!
Download and print the posters on card stock!
The printable posters are available at my TPT store.
Back to School First Day of Grade and Last Day of Grade Printable Posters
This set includes all posters for Preschool thru 12th grade.
There are 2 posters for each grade level.
One for the first day of school and one for the last day of school.
There are a total of 28 posters (8.5 in x 11 in).
Print on card stock. Add to a frame if you wish!
Have the students hold the poster on the first day of school and take their picture.
Do this again at the end of the year just have each student hold the last day of school poster as you take their picture.
Print the pictures & send home with students.
Idea 2: Keep the photos and create an end of year power point presentation featuring each of your students at the beginning of the year and the end of the year. Set to music if you'd like; share at an end of year celebration. You could also print out the slides to send home with students at the end of the year as a keepsake.
Idea 3: At the end of the year let the students create a power point slide about themselves and insert both photos into their single slide. Combine all student slides for an end of year presentation. Print out each student's slide and send it home with them to have as a keepsake.
I have three different sets available on my TPT store.
