Watching her gave me this thought today, "If we don't plug into the right source, there is no power. Staying plugged into the Word of God, being led by His Holy Spirit, and obeying His word, is what brings true, lasting strength and power in our lives."
I started reading a book several days ago called Not I But Christ by Corrie ten Boom. In the first few pages were these words. I read them aloud to someone with me and I could hardly get them out. It's like someone took the words out of my heart and put them on paper. I guess you could say it was exactly what I needed at that moment. From that point on it changed my whole countenance and day for the better. I have looked back at these words so many times since I first read them. Maybe it was just meant for me, but I keep thinking about them, so maybe someone else needs this too.
Pastor Broyhill's message tonight was on Psalm 1. After much thinking on this verse, I decided to use the Quotes Creator app to make this picture and keep as my reminder for this year. During the morning message, something Pastor mentioned, that just struck a chord in me is that typically our New Year's resolutions are self-focused, but a better question is, "What does God want me to focus on this year?" It's a great question to ask ourselves.
I also picked up a Bible Reading Schedule at church today for myself and my boys. I would like to use this schedule this year for my own personal reading and with my boys to read and discuss during our days together. I am going to use this schedule over the next year, to help us read through the Bible together, as a family.
