Some good advice from ABeka's fifth grade penmanship curriculum. Grandpa visited us today and Talen showed him his Penmanship test. Grandpa made sure to read them aloud to all of us, TWICE. I guess he just really wanted us to take in the messages. I chuckled to myself because I do the same thing when I check over it.
This is Talen's penmanship test he took today (from Abeka Penmanship). I enjoy reading his penmanship tests each week because I like how Abeka uses Bible verses, poems, and quotes for handwriting. I try to take a moment to really take in what the author is saying and stop to reflect on it for a few minutes for my own enjoyment. Oftentimes, I will ask my child, "What was the message of today's writing?" or "What was your take away from today's writing?" These type of questions can lead into a quick little discussion with your child about making good choices and the importance of good character traits.
