Watching her gave me this thought today, "If we don't plug into the right source, there is no power. Staying plugged into the Word of God, being led by His Holy Spirit, and obeying His word, is what brings true, lasting strength and power in our lives."
As planned, we started our activities from the Abeka Nursery Arts and Crafts book this past week. The first activity was coloring the crayon red. Abeka recommends showing your child to color in a circular motion. Her big brother was really into helping her.
On Friday, we did the Creation Mobile Craft. I cut out the pieces ahead of time and put them in a baggie. As I would take them out of the baggie, I would say, "God made the sun, the birds, the fish, and so on." I would hand her the cut out and put glue on the Earth where the piece went. After I did the first one with her, she caught on right away. She really liked doing this activity and I really enjoyed doing this with her. Her oldest big brother was with us when we did this activity and he was really into being right by her side too.
I loved seeing how her big brothers wanted to help her out this week and be a part of her arts and crafts activities. This, among many others, is one of the joys of home-schooling.
We started out each morning this week listening to Wee Sing Bible Songs. I do have the CD version but I was so happy to find that it is also on Amazon music for free so we can listen to it anytime. When I was a little girl my grandparents gave me this on cassette. I would carry around my Fisher Price tape player and sing these songs into it's microphone. I have always loved Wee Sing Bible Songs. This is one of those items that I purchase in bulk and keep on hand just so that I always have a great gift to give to children for Christmas or for their birthday or just because. This has been a favorite at our house and these are the types of song lyrics and stories I want to store in the heart of my children.
And she still plays with and absolutely LOVES putting on everybody's shoes!

Happy New Year!
When I think of 2020, I think of perfect vision, I can see clearly now.
I am happy with the first day of 2020. I started out my day with following the Bible reading schedule I got from church. It is always amazing to me how I recognize different things each time I read the Bible. I read each chapter and made notes that I wanted to discuss with the boys later in the day. Afterwards, I got ready for the day and our family traveled to the beach. During our drive we read the chapters together and discussed them. Starting my day in the Bible has really kept me meditating on His Words throughout my day today and also tonight. There's is so much in just these chapters I could spend weeks delving deeper into and learning more about with my kids. It was nice to take the time to study some of the questions I came up with from my Bible reading today on the drive, but mostly I enjoyed the discussions with my children and husband that were prompted by us being in His word together. Later tonight once we got to the beach our family listened to our church's Wednesday night service online. It is funny how God confirms things and helps us know we are going in the right direction. It's pretty amazing to me at times how things just come together. Pastor shared this Bible reading schedule tonight and told people to pick one up from the lobby and his message was on the importance of spending time each day in God's word. I'm sure I am on the right track and off to a great start in 2020!
