Hello! Thank you for visiting my blog and website. I am so glad you are here!
My name is Kristen Hill. My husband and I have been married for 15 years and we have been blessed with three beautiful children: two boys, ages 14 and 12, and one girl, age two. We have been home schooling our children all through their school age years. Currently our boys are in sixth and eighth grade.
There are so many things I love in my life, but most of all, I absolutely LOVE being a mom! My children are my favorite people in the whole world! I love being with them. They are the best gifts God has ever given to me. I have lots of things I enjoy doing. Some of my favorites are: spending time on the beach in the sunshine, going for walks and bicycle rides, going boating and deep sea fishing, reading books, taking classes to learn about my interests, listening to music, and finding new recipes to cook.
I am a UNC Wilmington graduate and an Appalachian State University graduate! I earned my Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education from UNC Wilmington and my Master's Degree in Educational Media - Instructional Technology - Computers from Appalachian State University.
I absolutely LOVED my job working as an Instructional Technologist, but after having my children, I really wanted to be at home with them. I was feeling torn inside between working and being at home with my babies while they were small. At the time, we owned two houses, and I was waiting on one to sell before I could leave my job. That was during the 2008 - 2009 timeframe, and the real estate market was not good. We tried For Sale By Owner, listing it with real estate agents, and it wasn't selling. Eventually we had enough and decided to rent it. It rented immediately! It was one of those times I thought to myself, we should've done this a long time ago. It's funny how God works things out in ways we could never imagine!
After renting out my first home, I was now able to be at home with my children. I found myself setting up the living room and the basement in my home like a school room. It had every learning "center" I could fit into the space. At the same time, I kept meeting others who would bring up the topic of home schooling to me randomly or that were home schooling their children. Before this, the thought to home school had never entered my mind. As I started to research it and learn more about it, the idea started to grow on me. As unexpected as it was, I knew this was the direction God was leading.
Throughout my years of home schooling my children, I have found new ways to use my talents and education. I have focused more on expanding in the area of eCommerce. A couple of my favorite eCommerce platforms to earn extra income from are eBay and Teachers Pay Teachers. On eBay, I sell educational products, custom handmade stationery, and items that we no longer use but are in great condition. On Teachers Pay Teachers, I sell digital downloads of creative educational items I have made and used with my own children and students.
I have also found myself working with small business owners and church ministries to help them with their technology questions and website needs. I have created websites for small businesses, restaurants, and church ministries. It has been my pleasure to help small businesses improve their online and mobile presence through website design, search engine optimization, and social media marketing.
It brings me joy to help others with their technology questions and needs.
My FAVORITE and most common tech questions are:

Another area that I have had an ongoing interest in for a very long time is real estate. One of my first financial goals was to own a house. Ever since I was a young little girl, I dreamed about the day of owning my own home. I loved houses, especially the ones with a big yard and a pool! When we would drive by an open house, I liked to go in just for FUN! I kept a close eye on what was happening in the real estate market in my areas of interest. I oftentimes wondered what it would be like to be a real estate agent. I kept thinking to myself, "not yet, maybe later." I finally decided to stop thinking about it and just sign up for the class. Shortly after earning my NC Real Estate Broker license, I joined Keller Williams Realty.
